1Samuel:17:45: Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
Walking in victory tomorrow is determined by the position or decision you take today.
From where we have read, a Goliath for 40days tormented the Israelites threatening and obstructing their going forward, but was challenged and defeat by David a small boy, who took his source of power from the name of the Lord that the goliath has defiled.
what is Goliath? Goliath represents the many obstacles and pitfalls we encounter in life, whether they be spiritual or physical. Anything that stands against the blessings of God, that stands against our destiny is a goliath, it could be sickness, demonic oppression, it could be failure – business, marriage, relationship etc, it could be a generational curse emanating from our fathers house, or mothers house.
We are created for dominion, hence you need to contend with these goliaths and gain victory.
How can I contend and gain victory of these Goliath? Let’s emulate David
Have God as your source of power – remember He is a mighty man in battle; Psalms:24:8: Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle
He can only show himself mighty in battle when you have a relationship with him, which can only be through his son Jesus Christ hence you must be bornagain to access God as your source of power.
Prepared for Future Battle – David had prepared before the battle with golaith, he had tested his strength with Lion and a Bear. You need to prepare spiritually by prayer and fasting you win battles, remember 2Co:10:4: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Be confidence in whom you put your trust – David was confident of Victory in the name of the Lord, he came challenging Goliath in the name that is most powerful, remember : “… but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied”
Brethren there is power in the name of Jesus, use it, say it and get victory through it has David did.
Fear Not – the Israelites armies and Saul where all afraid of goliath, but David for the trust in God and having experienced the power of God, came boldly before the giant and the giant fell before him. You need to confront your giant, don’t run away from them.
In submission, David had 5 stones as weapon of destruction, God must have something in your hand to use for your victory, remember He used the rod in the hand of Moses to perform wonders.
To defeat the giant of Poverty, God needs to use the little in your hand to bless you, remember the zarephat, she use the little she had to defeat poverty.
Confession – Jer:17:18: Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

- Every power making it difficult for me to obtain favor, vanish, in the name of Jesus.
7. O God, my Father, re-organize my presence and do not pass me by, in the name of Jesus.
