1John:3:1: Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
What manner of Love does the father have for us that we should be called sons of God?
There is a special love that we need to celebrate not as the world is celebrating today. The love that turns us from slavery to sonship, from darkness to marvelous light from sin unto righteousness that is the standard love to celebrate.
Whatever the world or part of the world is celebrating today in the name of love, the one you are celebrating supersede and it’s the ideal celebration of what love is.
The manner of love that should be celebrated is the type associated and defined in 1 Corinthians 13v4-8
Love is patient – It brings understanding, Porv.14v29 -Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.
Love is kind – and kindness is a virtue that prevents bareness so when you are in God’s love you can never be barren 2Pe:1:7: And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 2Pe:1:8: For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It does not envy – Love has nothing to do with envy, it celebrates with whoever has been blessed. Envy no one but celebrate with everyone envy makes our journey to end in hell – Ga:5:21: Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
It does not boast, if at all you want to boast let it be unto the Lord – Ps34v2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
It is not proud – Jesus demonstrated love in terms of humility even unto death and for that reason he was exalted, your celebration of love must be connected to your humble life which commands a lifting for you Phillipians 2v8 – And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death– even death on a cross!
It does not dishonor others, Love obeys, it gives honor to whom its due, you need to honor one another, husbands honor your wife treat are good, like wise ye wives
It is not self-seeking – it is not selfish, be considerate and put others in your plan
It is not easily angered, no matter how annoyed it may be, love cover the multitudes of sin, hence when men sin against you let love make you over look their offenses.
It keeps no record of wrongs – it is forgiving and forgetting, Isa.43v35 – “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails
